SAP HR - PCR ( Personnel Calculation Rules )

• PCR stands for “Personnel Calculation Rules” and are managed through transaction code PE02.

• A PCR is called through functions and allows you to test conditions and take actions.

• The actions can modify data in internal tables and sometimes even in database.

• Most of the work in PCRs is done by “Operations”.

• Operations are used both for testing conditions, as well as for taking actions.

• There are two pre-defined parameters, which are available in all time management PCRs. They are:
– ESG for PCR
– ESG for wage/time type

• Note that both the parameters, ESG for PCR and ESG for Wage/Time type must be specified, or both the parameters should be empty.

• SAP stores all PCRs in table T52C5.

• PCRs are structured like decision trees.

• Data processed using personnel calculation rules is either
– Transferred by the function that called the rule, or
– Is available regardless of the function used to call the rule, for example,
general status data for the employee.

• There are about 45 standard time management PCRs.

• SAP allows you to:
– Create your own customer-PCRs
– Modify existing standard PCRs

• Customer-PCRs are edited after copying a suitable standard PCR into the customer name-space.
